Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon

Listen to my interview with Ariel Lawhon about her newest novel, Frozen River. I loved this book! Our conversation ranges from the role of a midwife in the 1700’s, to ‘premature’ babies, and the challenges faced by real-life midwife Martha Ballard. Lawhon brilliantly recreated Ballard’s life using her journals and other biographical information. This is a fast-paced read and the ending is killer!
